Duo for Flow For monitoring the flow velocity in pipes Negele offers two flow monitors with different measurement principles. The sensors meet a great variety of applications and requirements. Both devices are furnished with identical process connections and electrical connection lines. Thus an easy exchange of these sensors is possible. The fws-141 is working with the Ultrasonic Doppler principle. Because of this principle the flow monitor needs a small number of particles inside the medium, then a signal with a very short reaction time is available. Suitable media for example are drinking water, juices, milk, oil and of course CIP-media. Not detectable are fluids after filters with a very fine structure. A measurement up to 140°C is possible without any problems. Fast temperature changes do not influence the sensor. The fks-141 is working with the well-known calorimetric principle, but offers some important advantages because of its new construction details. This flow monitor needs only one temperature sensor with a pulsed heating. Thus a comparatively short reaction time is achieved. Even temperature shocks affect the measuring only a short time. A sensor protection is integrated into the flow monitor, that will guarantee an automatic change into the stand by mode, when medium temperatures are higher than 100°C. So the device is protected against damaging in a reliable way. Both devices are giving an active output signal, if the flow velocity is crossing an alarm value. Furthermore versions are available with an analog output 4-20mA. An integrated indicator is available, too. These very low-priced flow monitors can replace expensive magmeters, if only a trend of flow velocity is interesting. The hygienic design and CIP-compatibility of these devices is confirmed by certificates of the EHEDG group and the 3-A organisation.
